Tampa signs TE Clark, trades TE Winslow

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent tight end Dallas Clark to a one-year contract on Monday and also traded tight end Kellen Winslow to Seattle.

Clark had the last nine years with the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted him with the 24th-overall pick of the 2003 draft.

Injuries have hampered him the past two season as he has played just 17 games, including 11 last season during which he caught 34 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns.

Over his career, he has 427 catches for 4,887 yards and 46 touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2009. He holds the Colts' career mark in catches and touchdowns for a tight end and ranks second in yards.

"Dallas Clark is a consummate pro and proven playmaker," said Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik. "He will be another asset, on and off the field, for our team. In addition to Luke Stocker's continued improvement in his ability as an every-down tight end, we feel we have both talent and depth at the tight end position."

Winslow, an eight-year veteran, was traded for an undisclosed draft pick in 2013.

He spent the past three seasons with Tampa Bay and started 40 of the 48 games that he played in. He notched 218 catches for 2,377 yards and 12 scores during his time with the Buccaneers.

The sixth-overall pick by Cleveland in 2004, he has totaled 437 catches for 4,836 yards and 23 scores in 92 games between Cleveland and Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers also announced that they have waived wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker.
