Last September the Buccaneers were dealt a somewhat significant blow when starting safety Tanard Jackson was suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Today Jackson applied for reinstatement into the league and word should come tomorrow on whether or not he has been. If Jackson is reinstated he is eligible to play in the Bucs game this Sunday against the Falcons, even though there is little to no shot that this will happen.
The first hurdle Jackson will need to pass is the league office and their reinstatement process. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will want significant proof that Jackson does not currently or has not, in the past year, used any sort of banned substance.
