As the St. Louis Rams continue to progress through training camp, a number of stories have started to come to fruition and a lot of attention is being given some of the team’s key players. One of those key players is rookie wide receiver Tavon Austin.
After the special teams unit, which included, Austin got some work in on Sunday, Austin told reporters that he believes he has the talent and ability to not only handle the punt and kick return jobs, but to excel at them both.
“Oh yeah, definitely. There’s a lot of guys out there like me — DeSean Jackson and Percy Harvin. You can pretty much see what they did in the league. So if I just trust and believe in (my skills), and have a good scheme, I think things will go well.”
There is no question from this corner of cyber-space regarding Austin’s ability to return kicks and make plays happen. He is the best guy for the job.
But hopefully the Rams do not use Austin as a full-time punt returner in 2013, or in any year for that matter where ...
