It has not been a pleasant Easter holiday for Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton.

Per the Florida Times-Union, Knighton injured his eye “at or near” a local area nightclub early Sunday morning, and underwent what appears to be emergency surgery to repair whatever damage had been done.

The team is aware of the incident, releasing a statement on their official Twitter account.

The severity of Knighton’s injury has not been disclosed, though he seems to be in stable condition.

It’s a tough blow for the 25-year-old, who’s entering the final year of his contract and is aiming to secure a big payday from the Jags. Over the last three seasons, Knighton has started all but three games for the team, recording 75 and 5.5 sacks.

More details to follow.
