From NESN:

Could there be a better pairing than Terrell Owens and the Jets?

As TO was watching the Jets' anemic offensive effort against the Texans on Monday Night Football, Owens took to Twitter to beg New York for a shot.

Owens already had a chance with an NFL team this summer when he played for the Seahawks during the preseason, but was cut on Aug. 26. If there's any team in the league that needs a wide receiver of Owens' caliber, it's the Jets, who started Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens on Monday night.

Owens has 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns in his career, but he's 38-years-old and didn't show he had much left with the Seahawks. Still, the Jets look like they need to do something to get their offense back in order.

Check out Owens' tweet below.

  • Better off finishing in last place than have this smuck on any team.
  • The Jets have enough problems without bringing Owens into the locker room.
  • Just what the Jets need..... another "circus performer". Can this freak show get any worse?
  • Donovan and the boys have gotta wait... while he has sex with Nicolette Sheridan. Will the Jets wait ??? Come on down to the Dolphins T.O. and replace Chad OchoSTINKO and his ultimate snatch (who dumped his sorry butt) !!!
  • NOBODY is that desperate! he is a sure loser! so glad seattle came to their senses!
  • T.O. it's time for you to come to the realization that your career is over. No team needs to add potential problems to their roster and no team needs to add an omnipotent player to their lockerroom. You created your own problems now you must live with them.
  • No doubt quick release you are definitely correct. He dug his own grave earlier in his career and throughout his career by continuously having a negative attitude. That being said (and this may make me somewhat of a chump) for some reason I believe him and the way that he has been acting as of late he seems much more humble then he has been in the past and much more professional. Take the way he handled being cut from the Seahawks no spectacle just a thank you and he was on his way and as negative of influence he has been throughout his career and regardless of whether he deserves one I kind of hope he gets another shot.
  • Being broke and cut by two teams in the preason will definitely humble you.
  • I'm reminded of the movie "The Princess Bride" where Vizzini says "Inconceivable!" and Inigo Montoya responds "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

In your case, your use of the word 'omnipotent' seems out of place. Omnipotent means 'almighty or infinite in power', which does not, in any way, describe T.O.

In fact, if there were a person who truly was 'almighty or infinite in power', I would imagine EVERY team would sell everything they own to possess such a player.

Were you, perhaps, thinking of the word 'impotent'? That would at least make a little more sense in this context.
  • T.O. was a great player and person at one time. He still can be a great person if he straightens his ass out and goes to work doing something constructive. As to his being a great, or even good, receiver again, very doubtful. There is no substitute for youth!
  • Leopards do NOT change their spots. He was trouble everywhere he was. How many teams gave him a chance? He isn't worth the trouble or the money.
  • jERRY RICE DID IT IT Can be done, Im tried of people thinking because u are 37 38 you cant proform BS
  • He literally sucks the air out of any locker room he ever entered. Tell him to join the circus!! He has done to football, what Tyson did to boxing!!
  • T.O. is a great player and deserve another chance !
  • No one deserves anything, you earn a chance. T.O pissed all over his career and teammates and now wants another team to give him a chance?

Again you only earn what you get or deserve.
  • They should sign him. They should also start Tebow. That way they would have a QB that can't throw the ball and a reciever that can't catch the ball.
  • if the Jets pick up this turd, I will officially leave them as a long time fan and start rooting for a real team like the Giants.

Between Rex Ryan, the occassional buffoon, Woody Johnson, the every day buffoon, this sad sack NFL bunch of clowns is too much.
  • Get T.O. or your season is over Rex.
  • Rex's season is already over w/o T.O.
  • i think,Jets should get T.O...after all every Circus has to have a main event ..lol
  • T.O. is a great player with a cocky attitude, (just like Cromartie).... I think the Jets are in despartate need of some talent in that area of the field... Not to mention- in desparate need to sit that lack of a quarterback Sanchez.... Seriously, how bad does it have to get?????
  • Finally, TO may be on to something. With ODB as head coach, they certainly have no place to go but up....perhaps TO can function under the circus tent known as the Jets' locker room.
  • T.O. JUST LOOKING FOR AN EASY WAY OUT OF HIS FINANCIAL TROUBLES.
NEEDS TO GET A REAL JOB AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE MONEY HE OWES FOR CHILD SUPPORT. WHAT A ZERO!
  • give him a shot could work out nothing to lose
  • I think the Jets should sign him......I'll make a killing in Vegas betting against them!
  • Who in their right mind is going to hire this piece of $hit ?

He s nothing but TROUBLE .
