Who to pick: Terrelle Pryor or Matt Flynn? That was the question on Oakland Raiders’ coach Dennis Allen’s mind in this year’s preseason. Pryor was considered second best to Flynn; however in just two short months, Terrelle Pryor has drastically improved the performance of the Oakland Raiders, making him the unquestionable candidate for the position. After suffering from a concussion two weeks ago, Pryor had to turn the reigns back over to Matt Flynn, who led the Raiders to an embarrassing loss on their home turf against the Washington Redskins. This week the Raiders (2-3) took on the San Diego Chargers (2-3), dominating them 27-17. The key difference? The quarterbacks. Matt Flynn has since been released from the Oakland Raiders, and Terrelle Pryor remains first-string quarterback. In Sunday’s game against the Chargers, Pryor led the Oakland Raiders to a well-earned win, making several key plays while throwing on the run. Would the Raiders have won against the Redskins if Pryor had been playing instead of Flynn? Absolutely. Flynn made many technical errors that don’t seem to be an issue for Pryor. Had Pryor been in the game, I think we would be looking at a record of 3-2 for the Raiders. Is Pryor franchise quarterback material for the Raiders? Should Pat White, a second-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2009, and David Carr, the top pick of the 2002 draft, be regarded for the position as well? Both are scheduled to meet with the Raiders, and Coach Allen said the team will consider them. Right now, Terrelle Pryor seems like a spot-on choice for the Oakland Raiders, who are attempting to recover their reputation and end the season positively. Does the team work better with Pryor than Flynn? The Raiders definitely seem to pull more plays with Pryor and have a better likelihood of winning. I say keep Pryor. He’s young, physically fit, technically intelligent, and obviously able to work under pressure with great poise. As long as he avoids any more injuries, I think we can continue to see great things from Terrelle Pryor.

Raiders Did The Right Thing By Passing on Josh Freeman

I should have been sharing my thoughts here on the web page that I PAY FOR and where people actually come to READ WHAT I WRITE.
