John McClain reports that the Houston Texans have reached an agreement with former Raiders punter Shane Lechler.
Adam Schefter reports that Lecher receives a three-year deal worth $5.5 million that includes a $1 million signing bonus.
Lechler, 36, visited with the Texans on Thursday and there was optimism that a deal would be reached at some point in the near future.
He’s been arguably the most consistent punter in the league for the past five season, but he is coming off of a season what wasn’t in line with his previous production. Still, it’s probably a decent move for the Texans.
