Last week, the Houston Texans reportedly hoped to get
running back Arian Foster back from injury today, as the All-Pro was expected
to join the team’s practice sessions. Foster has missed all of training camp as
a result of calf and back injuries, and these ailments will sideline the back
at least a few more days, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

It appears that Foster’s back is hampering the return, as
McClain added that the running back received injections to alleviate pain he
was experiencing in that area. Considering Foster’s position, it would seem
that his calf injury would be more of a concern.
As a result of the setback to Foster’s return timeframe, it
grows less and less likely that he plays during the regular season. We’ve seen
this work out OK for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson last season,
and there’s still no reason to think Foster won’t be ready to go when Week 1
