Cornerback Johnathan Joseph returned to the practice field for the Houston Texans on Friday, though his status for Sunday's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens remains uncertain.
Joseph, a Pro Bowl selection in 2011 and one of the Texans' core defensive players, sat out Wednesday and Thursday with a sore groin before taking part in a portion of Friday's session. Head coach Gary Kubiak said the seventh-year veteran will be a game-time decision for the AFC South leader's Week 7 clash with the AFC North front-running Ravens.
"Johnathan did practice today on a limited basis," said Kubiak. "It was very positive. I think we're heading in the right direction, but the decision will be made on Sunday morning."
Twelve Houston players were listed as probable for the game, including nose tackle Shaun Cody (back), linebacker Bradie James (calf), right guard Antoine Caldwell (concussion) and running back Ben Tate (toe).
Safety Quintin Demps, recovering from fractures to both his left forearm and right thumb, is considered questionable. Source: Sports Network Attached Thumbnails

According to the Houston Texans, rookie defensive end David Hunter will be out for the season with a torn ligament in his foot. Hunter was called up this week from the practice squad to take the place of recently injured Tim Jamison (achilles) who was also lost for the season.

Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens: week seven injury update
Must of the injury talk leading up to Sunday’s big AFC matchup between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens is centered around the devastating injuries the Ravens suffered last week against the Dallas Cowboys. ILB Ray Lewis (triceps) and CB Lardarius Webb (ACL) were both lost for the season, while NT Haloti Ngata (knee) could also miss Sunday’s game. Overlooked are the Texans...
If Terrell Suggs plays Sunday, does it hurt or help the Houston Texans?
Word out of Baltimore Ravens’ camp this week is that reigning defensive player of the year Terrell Suggs is set to play this Sunday on the road against the Houston Texans. Suggs, who suffered an Achilles injury back in April, was activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list this week and practiced Wednesday for the first time. Despite the incredibly short timetable...
Are the Houston Texans destined for the Super Bowl? AFC updated playoff predictions.
The Texans were an outstanding team last year and were headed to a deep playoff run, until their QB was injured. This season, the Texans are picking up where they left off. Shaub is playing well and Foster continues to produce. However, the strength of this team is their defense.
Before the season started I predicted each teams record, the playoff picture and Superbowl.
Now...
SOTT Quick Hitters
Here are some random thoughts for you on the Houston Texans.
- As much flack as Connor Barwin has taken for his lack of production, it feels like defensive end Antonio Smith has gotten a free pass from the critics. Despite having two sacks and a forced fumble in 2012, Smith has been very quite and less disruptive than last season. Now Smith has been on the injury report the...

Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans: Week 7 NFL Pick
Baltimore Ravens (5-1) at Houston Texans (5-1)
This is a very interesting game for a number of reasons. The most obvious is Baltimore’s injuries. This line was at -4 a week ago, but because of Baltimore’s injuries, it’s shifted 3 points, even though Baltimore won and Houston got blown out at home. In spite of that, we still are getting a slight public lean on Houston. Houston...
