Named National Defensive Player of the Year by D3football.com, Jones became Mary Hardin-Baylor and American Southwest Conference record holder for career tackles as a senior in 2012. At his pro-day, Jones ran a 4.81 40 yard dash, had a 32.5″ vertical jump and bench pressed 225 lbs. 22 times. His senior year alone, Jones racked up 8 interceptions for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 fumble recovery with 2 touchdowns, 135 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 14 passes defended, 3 forced fumbles, 2 blocked kicks and a safety. Although he is not projected to be drafted and his measurables are not eye-catching, Jones has the instinct and a multitude of abilities to make plays happen.
