Fox Sports Southwest:
Former Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips passed away at the age of 90 on Friday, and Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt made sure to find a way to honor the Houston legend.
During the fourth quarter of the Texans' loss to Kansas City, Watt made his first sack of the game against Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and in place of his typical salute celebration he went with a tip of an imaginary cowboy hat, a Phillips trademark.
Phillips, father of current Houston defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, was famously known for wearing a cowboy hat on the sidelines while coaching, except when playing in domed stadiums because he said his mother told him it was impolite to wear a hat indoors.

Today the Houston Texans released LB Willie Jefferson for smoking a “Cigar” in the team hotel. The cigar contained nothing but tobacco, but the coaches decided to make the move. This could be a huge mistake for Coach Gary Kubiak who is now definitely on the hot seat. I talked with a representative of Willie […]

Today the Houston Texans put up a gunfight to the Kansas City Chiefs but came up short, in the 17-16 loss. The biggest problem came when both Arian Foster, and Brian Cushing left the game early. Cushing had 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season. The news just keeps getting worse for Houston. At least they may have found their quarterback of the future in Case Keenum.
Houston Texans running backs Arian Foster and Ben Tate were among the many casualties across the National Football League on an injury-ridden Sunday. As a result, there was speculation that former Notre Dame running back Cierre Wood could be in for an increased role when the team returned from its Week 8 bye. That will […]

Yeah, only in our dreams--right guys?
