The Houston Texans deactivated Andre Johnson for Sunday's game vs. Tennessee, although the star receiver's condition is improving.
Considered one of the NFL's top wideout, Johnson has not played since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4 vs. Pittsburgh. He has sat out three games and will be replaced by Jacoby Jones.
However, the Houston Chronicle reported that Johnson ran routes at close to full speed in practice Friday and could return next week vs. Jacksonville.
Last season, Johnson had 86 catches for 1,216 yards and eight TDs despite missing three games. He has 25 catches for 352 yards and four TDs this season.
