Former Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine on Sunday, making him one of the three fastest players who took place in the Combine this year. But could he be flying under the radar even with that blazing speed? In an interview with “The Dan Patrick Show” on Thursday, Swope was asked about being a white guy with those kinds of wheels. He said the fact that a white guy ran as fast as he did probably caught some people off guard. “I think a lot of people were pretty shocked,” Swope said. “You don’t see that every day, a white guy running a 4.3. I just wanted to go out and let people know how important this is to me. This is a big deal. I’m trying to make it in the NFL and I want to go out and do it the right way.” As Pro Football Talk pointed out, Swope’s NFL.com scouting report says that his straight-line speed and acceleration are “average.” Either that information is inaccurate, or something is wrong with the clocks at...

Danny Amendola vs Wes Welker???  Would you take one or Both??? Thanks for the submission, you can all send us something Patriots-y here if you want. As for your question I think if Welker comes back it’s probably unlikely they bring Amendola in, but I wouldn’t totally rule it out. I’d say then it comes down to him or Edelmand and I’d prefer Edelman.

Ryan Swope Says People Are Shocked He Ran 4.3 40 Time Because He’s ‘White'

Swope had a terrific showing at last week’s NFL combine and even wowed scouts with his speed, running  a 4.34 40-yard dash, which was apparently unexpected given his skin color. Tom Brady Deal Means Patriots Are Ready to Give Wes Welker Long-Term Contract

No, Tom Brady probably didn’t make Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick give him a secret handshake, promising that if he gave them a few million, they’d turn and sign his buddy, Wes Welker. Sentimental Patriots fans would only like to think that. But that doesn’t mean that Brady restructuring his contract — the second time in a calendar year — wasn’t done with Welker in mind...

Patriots to target Mike Wallace?

Not only did Tom Brady’s new contract free up some cap space to potentially re-sign Wes Welker, it could also help the Patriots finally acquire the deep threat they’ve been looking for. As Ian Rapoport of NFL.com points out, Wallace “has always garnered” the praise of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick and the Patriots know Brady doesn’t have a lot of time left...

Patriots are $25 million under the cap

After giving quarterback Tom Brady a very cap friendly contract extension, the New England Patriots are now $25 million under the cap. Having that much money under the cap gives the Pats the flexibility to re-sign Wes Welker, as well as possibly bring in a guy like Mike Wallace. Once free agency kicks off on March 12th, things could get interesting.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI...
