Tommy Tuberville left Texas Tech for Cincinnati in December, and Red Raiders fans aren’t about to forget about the way he made his exit. A highly-publicized report from December quoted a recruit who said Tuberville left them in the middle of dinner and didn’t return. Tuberville says he didn’t leave in the middle of dinner, but that he accepted the Cincinnati job the next day. Either way, Tuberville left Texas Tech during a recruiting weekend, and some fans decided to remind him about it this week. Texas Tech fan site Viva The Matadors tossed around an idea Wednesday morning to send a fax to Tuberville’s football office at Cincinnati to tweak the coach about leaving Lubbuck. What was their idea? To fax the menu from 50 Yard Line Steakhouse, which was the restaurant where Tuberville supposedly ditched the recruits. One fan actually went through with the idea. Here’s what the cover sheet stated and looked like: Date: 2-06-2013 From: Texas Tech Nation To: Tommy Tuberville and staff. MEMO Was thinking of you. . . We will miss you . . . Here is an intent letter to remember us by Signed XoXXOOxxoo WreckEmTech Below you can see the cover sheet and menu they faxed: As long as Tuberville has the slightest sense of humor — and by that we mean just better than Nick Saban — there is no way he couldn’t laugh at that. Well done Texas Tech fans, well done.
