The Chargers had the Ravens beat. Until they didn’t. San Diego led 13-10 and had Baltimore down to what may have been its last play. Not only was it fourth down with 1:59 left in the game, but the Ravens also needed 29 yards to get a first down. Impossible, right? Not if Ray Rice is on the field. From his own 37-yard line, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco took the shotgun snap and dumped it off to Rice at the line of scrimmage. With plenty of room to run ahead of him, Rice sprinted down the right side and crossed midfield. With three Chargers defenders coming right at him, Rice switched directions and cut across the field making all three miss. Then, with the help of a block from Anquan Boldin, Rice was able to squeeze through two more Chargers and dive for the first down. With that said, maybe the block of the year too by Anquan Boldin. Amazing play, great determination. You’ll be hearing the expression ’4th and 29′ for a couple weeks.

Rice saves game with 4th and 29 conversion

In a game where things were awfully slow up to the fourth quarter, one of the most impressive plays of the year emerged. Down by three with just under two minutes to go, Ravens RB Ray Rice converted an incredible 4th and 29, setting up one of the longest conversions in NFL History, topping Freddie Mitchell’s famous 4th and 26 play against the Packers. The conversion set up a Baltimore...

Ray Rice Converts 4th and 29 to Set Up Game Tying Field Goal (Video)

Ray Rice has been my favorite running back in the NFL for a long time now.  This is one of the reasons.  The man is a strait up beast and has determination on every run.  Never seems like the guy takes a play off.  The Ravens were in a dog fight yesterday with the San Diego Chargers.  Rice grabbed this screen pass in the video below and took it 29 yards for a 1st down.  Oh...

Rice explains play with nursery rhyme

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice utilized a nursery rhyme to help explain his improbable first down conversion on a fourth-and-29 play.

Ray Rice’s remarkable 4th down catch and run (GIF)

Ray Rice’s big 4th down play During today’s win over the Chargers, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice converted a first down on a crucial 4th and 29. The Ravens ended up winning in overtime.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ?...

Ray Rice’s unbelievable 4th down conversion sent Ravens to OT win over Chargers (GIF)

I couldn’t believe this play when I first saw it.  First, the fact that the Ravens were able to convert on 4th and 29, which just shows how completely inept the San Diego Chargers are.  And secondly, that Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw a check down pass to Ray Rice on 4th and 29.  Flacco should be very thankful that Rice is an explosive playmaker, because had he not converted, Flacco...

Rice's big run, Tucker FGs give Ravens 16-13 win

It was such an unbelievable play that Ray Rice reached deep and used a nursery rhyme to describe it. ''Check down, Hey Diddle Diddle, Ray Rice up the middle,'' the Baltimore running back said with a smile after the Ravens converted a fourth-and-29 play to help force overtime before stunning the San Diego Chargers 16-13 on Sunday. It was almost an afterthought that...

4th and 29 no problem for Ray Rice and Joe Flacco...Ravens 16, Chargers 13 in OT...

San Diego played well enough to win this game and probably should have won it---their defense was superb throughout most of the game. They had one key lapse on one key play--- and it opened up the door for Flacco and the Ravens to launch a strategic air strike late in the 4th quarter that tied the game---and ultimately won it in OT. The Ravens came this close to being punished...

Ravens rally for overtime win over Chargers

SAN DIEGO - The outcome came down to rhyme and reason, Ray Rice said. "Hey diddle diddle. Ray Rice up the middle," the Ravens running back said. Rice's feet delivered in the clutch, but it was kicker Justin Tucker who accomplished a bigger feat, boosting the Baltimore Ravens past the staggering San Diego Chargers. Tucker's 38-yard field goal with 1:07 left...

Best Play in NFL History?

Is it possible?  Could the best and worst plays in NFL history really have happened during the same weekend of football?  If you watched the Baltimore/San Diego game yesterday evening, you’re sure to know what I’m talking about.  It was 4th-and-29 with about 1:20 left to play in the fourth, with the Chargers needing just one final stop to earn the 13-10 victory over the Ravens...
