TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens were drafting from need last April and they found some good players, as usual. 2nd rounder Torrey Smith (WR) gave the Ravens the deep threat that they have been looking for. They also found a nugget in the 5th round in DE Pernell McPhee. Here is a look at the players the Ravens selected in last April’s NFL Draft:
23-year old CB Jimmy Smith was supposed to step right into the starting lineup, but he was beaten out by Cary Williams and Lardarius Webb. He played in 12 games for the Ravens last year and he had 20 tackles, 8 passes defensed and 2 interceptions. Smith might develop into a starter down the road for the Ravens.
The Ravens took 22-year old WR Torrey Smith in the 2nd round of the draft. He played in all 16 games for the Ravens last season and he caught 50 passes for 841 yards (16.8 avg) with 7 TD grabs. He also carried the ball 4 times for 39 yards (9.8 ypc) and he returned 1 kickoff for 24 yards. The sky is the limit for Torrey Smith as he ...

Festivus Video from Some Lady Ravens Fans
I saw this video last night while goofing around on twitter (@BMoreBirdsNest). These rabid Raven fan ladies went all out to make a very goofy and entertaining Festivus video that features a girl in a football helmet scaring a cow wearing a Ben Roethlisberger “jersey,” lots of girl-on-girl tackling (WOOO!), and a SPOT ON Joe Flacco impression. I really enjoyed it. Take...
Ravens Healthy Following Much-Needed Bye Week
The Baltimore Ravens are a much healthier team following their first-round bye. Head coach John Harbaugh predicted every injured player will be able to play in Sunday’s divisional-round postseason game against the Houston Texans, according to Aaron Wilson of The Carroll County Times. The Ravens have complied an extensive list of injuries that include: inside [...]
Rested, healthy Ravens relish benefit of bye week
As a reward for going 12-4 and winning the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens got to watch football over the weekend instead of playing it.
It was a luxury they did not take for granted.
In each of the previous three years, the Ravens reached the playoffs as a wild-card team. That meant they had to play on the road during the opening weekend of the postseason.
This year, Baltimore...

Let Us Ease Your Mind, Week 6 Rewind v. the Ravens
The phrase the Texans are playing with “house money” is getting old because if you ask us there is not doubt in our minds that the Texans can go into Baltimore and win this Sunday. Trust me, in your mind you are doubting the notion that it could happen, because the Baltimore Ravens are the cream of the crop of the AFC and have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Boldin wins $280K in suit vs. ex-agent (AP)
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin has won a judgment of more than $280,000 in a lawsuit filed in Florida against his former agent. The case was filed last year in federal bankruptcy court in Tallahassee against Darrell Eugene Wills. Boldin claimed Wills defaulted on a loan dating to 2004 that was intended for a new sports business.
Don't wish too hard...
Everybody -- including me -- wanted the Ravens to play the Texans this Sunday in the first home playoff game of the John Harbaugh era, but if you think that this is a walkover matchup for the Ravens, think again.
The Texans have a lot going for them, including -- not except for -- rookie quarterback T.J. Yates. While everybody has been swooning over Tim Tebow the last few weeks...

Eisenberg: 'Joey Ice' Gives Ravens Substantial Edge
A pretty competitive playoff game is shaping up for Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens and Houston Texans are similar in key respects. Both have defenses ranked in the top five in the NFL. Both have Pro Bowl-caliber running backs providing offensive ballast. Where does one have a more substantial edge over the other? Under center, that’s where.
