Bears Beat:
Matt Forte was cleared to participate in the Pro Bowl.
Bears running back Matt Forte, selected to his first Pro Bowl despite missing the last month of the season with a knee injury, has been cleared to participate in the game. He also made it clear in a recent interview that he would be extremely unhappy if the Bears placed the franchise tag on him this offseason and it remains a possibility he would hold out if that happened, although he did not say as much. Finally, Bears director of player personnel, Tim Ruskell — gasp! — interviewed for the Bears’ general manager job, which was vacated by Jerry Angelo, who was responsible for hiring Ruskell to his current position.
