While I have never jumped on the bandwagon of a football player, I have to admit Andrew Luck was very impressive this past weekend. When coming out of Stanford, I was pushed away from the Andrew Luck love because of the media. As a scout, I knew he was a great quarterback, but I to say he is the best player coming out in 10 years, and all the the love he was getting was ridiculous to me. Luck was a very good passer at Stanford and was a proven winner, but they were giving him too much hype. After last week’s performance he deserves to be talked about.
If you know me, that is like eating crow, or admitting I am wrong. Well, even though I am not a big fan per say of Luck, I have to admit he drove the Colts down the field like a General of an Army. My point is, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is coming on fast, and fantasy owners in need should take notice, especially with bye weeks just beginning and Luck already past his.
Conveniently for a rookie, Luck has faced some soft pass defenses. Before turning the Packers’ 16th-ranked pass defense into mincemeat Sunday with 362 yards and two touchdowns, Luck threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars’ 21st-ranked unit.
But wait, there’s more. After facing the Jets’ No. 6 pass defense Sunday, Luck will battle the Browns (26), Dolphins (27), Titans (25) and Jaguars again. Four teams are on bye every week through Week 11 except for Week 7, when six teams are off. Someone will need some Luck.
