Isn't it great when the offense opens it up and throws the ball down-field once in a while? David Garrard completed 18 of 30 attempts for 214 yards as the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Houston Texans.
However, Maurice Jones-Drew was and remains the star of the game with 23 rushes for 119 yards and three TDs. His longest run was for 61 yards against a very poor Texan rush defense.
We may be witnessing the coming of age of Mike Sims-Walker. The WR for the Jaguars played a pivotal role in the game as the leading receiver going for six receptions for 81 yards. Torry Holt contributed 57 yards on three receptions, and MJD also caught four passes for 28 yards.
The Jacksonville defense still remains a question mark. Many Texans WRs were wide open all day, which led to the game becoming a bit of an aerial shootout. Fortunately, the Jaguars ground game was potent and brought balance to the overall Jaguars offense.
