New York Giants
I used to think that the 2012 New York Jets season was a gift from the comedy gods that would never be replicated. Then last night happened.
The Jets took the field for their "dress rehearsal" third preseason game last night, taking on that other team from New York (you know, the one that actually wins things). After missing their last game with an ankle injury, rookie quarterback Geno Smith got the start. Many believed that a simple, turnover free performance would win Geno the team's starting quarterback job.
So much for that. After leading the team on an early drive that culminated with a touchdown pass to Ben Obomanu, Smith spent the rest of the game looking like a rookie who had pissed himself. Smith threw three interceptions in the first half, each one worst than the last. His receiver should've helped him more on his first pick, but the last two were the result of a major overthrow (of f*cking soldier Kellen Winslow Jr, who hilariously joined the Jets at s...

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith will hope to forget about his first NFL start after a horrendous performance Saturday night against the New York Giants.
Geno Smith struggled in his first start with three interceptions and a safety.
Smith, who was battling an ankle injury since week one of the preseason, was named the starter against the Giants for the Jets third preseason game...
Mark Sanchez entered Saturday nights preseason game in the fourth quarter and was sacked three times before exiting with a shoulder injury.
Sanchez had been competing with Geno Smith for the starting quarterback job of the Jets.
Mark Sanchez had XRays. He will also be undergoing a MRI, I'm told. #nyj

Smith may be named the quarterback...
Just when it looked like Mark Sanchez had the Jets’ quarterback competition wrapped up, he may have been dealt a bad break, handing the job back to Geno Smith.
Mark Sanchez exited the Jets’ game against the New York Giants after being hit by defensive tackle Marvin Austin with an apparent throwing-shoulder injury. Sanchez played very little, with the Jets instead taking an...
BUTT OF JOKES
Here’s a picture that a New York Jets fan posted on Reddit of another Jets fan at the game preseason game between the Jets and Giants wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey that’s been modified to read “Butt Fumble”:
For those of you who do not know, or may not remember, the great event known as “The Butt Fumble” took place last Thanksgiving when the Jets hosted the Patriots...
Rex Ryan’s plan to start Geno Smith at the quarterback position didn’t go exactly the way he thought it would. Smith still needs time in the NFL to figure out where not to put the football. Smith threw 3 interceptions and he could have done worse. Smith completed 16 of the 30 passes he threw and it shows that Ryan and his offensive coordinators over exposed the young quarterback...
New York Jets running back Mike Goodson has been suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. “Mike Goodson of the New York Jets has been suspended without pay for the team’s first four games of the 2013
It didn’t look good.
The Jets are having all type of problems with their quarterbacks.
As fans still debate whether Rex Ryan's move to put Sanchez in the Giants game in the fourth quarter, his injury and its severity, are starting to come to light.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Sanchez sustained a bruised right shoulder joint in Saturday's game.
While the injury does not appear season-ending or even a 'half season off' deal...
The New York Jets entered Saturday night’s preseason game against the New York Giants with a big question mark surrounding the quarterback position.
They left it with far worse.
In addition to a less-than-impressive three-interception effort from rookie Geno Smith fifth-year veteran Mark Sanchez left the game with a right shoulder injury after being inexplicably inserted into...
TJ Rosenthal kicks off another week of New York Jets coverage at Turn On The Jets with his weekly No Huddle - Make sure to give TJ a follow on Twitter on Turn On The Jets a follow on Facebook.
We Have Entered The Green And White Zone
Forget the Twilight Zone. The Jets flew into a whole new air space of bizarre against the Giants. To a place that even the longest standing...
The New York Jets high brass decidedly gave Geno Smith the keys to the starting job this past weekend, but all he did was prove how unready he truly is for the game at the professional level.
Head coach Rex Ryan kept Smith in the game for more than three-quarters – the time traditionally given for the Week One starter – and thereafter inserted incumbent Mark Sanchez for the remainder...
Ugh, I’m making the lead paragraph about Mark Sanchez. I know, blech. I might as well have talked about Bob Dole here, it would’ve been just as exciting. But the reality is, despite him not getting drafted even in 2QB leagues, Sanchez was set to be the starting quarterback for the Jets this year. You see, Rex Ryan got this tattoo and…well, tattoos are forever. Well...
Fairly soon, it’s going to be quicker to list the people who haven’t weighed in on Sanchezgate than those who have.
New York Daily News columnist Mike Lupica became the latest to pipe up on Tuesday, responding to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie‘s harsh words about Jets beat writer Manish Mehta in a radio interview on Monday. Mehta, Lupica’s colleague at the Daily News, was...
N.Y. Jets coach Rex Ryan needs to be fired.
No really, fired. This is not reaction trolling. I'd actually really fire him before Week 1 if I were Jets general manager John Idzik.
Playing veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez in Saturday's fourth quarter, behind a second-string offensive line, after their only other viable option, Geno Smith, had absolutely proven himself not...
