PLAYERS: Mike Leach
TEAMS: Arizona Cardinals
If you’re not familiar with the story of U.S. Senate candidate Craig James, it really is quite a tale of scandal, intrigue and unbridled arrogance. Just to catch you up to speed with a dummy’s version – James was a talented running back and attended Southern Methodist University in the heyday of the program’s paid player scandal, and his NFL claim to fame was being ousted by Peyton Hillis as the last white running back to rush for 1,000 yards in one season. In fact, he thinks so highly of his broadcasting skills that he founded the Craig James School of Broadcasting. And apparently the first lesson you can learn there is how to coddle your underperforming son and use your TV power as leverage in creating and promoting a scandal against a college football coach like Mike Leach. In 2...

Mike Leach out-Mike Leaches himself with Pac-12 mascot death match.

Oh Mike Leach, how we have missed you and your delightful outlook on life and college football. From your "Fat Little Girlfriends" speech to you unnatural (and possibly unhealthy) obsession with pirates, you give us all such joy in our lives when you go off script. Mike Leach is just CLASSIC

As big as the Mike Leach hiring was, It was met with some criticism, with some pessimism thrown in for good nature. How un-Washington State like is this hire? Talk about bucking the norm. I recently heard a great interview on Sports Radio KJR with WSU Cougars new head football coach Mike Leach. Pretty classic Leachism's flying around. Check them out. Here's the clip...

Desert Nights: A Cold and Quiet Free Agency Period in Arizona

They say March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb.  If you’ve been following the Arizona Cardinals’ free agency endeavors, this saying has hit home a little too close. As detailed last week, the Cardinals entered the month of March and the free agency period excited about the prospects of adding former Indianapolis Colts QB and future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning...

NOTEBOOK: What we've learned

ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON, when the Cougs hold their third spring practice, Mike Leach will begin installing the final one-third of his offense, although with the caveat that "all" is a relative term and there's always room for improvement. But still. Two-thirds of Leach's high powered Air Raid offense is already installed and the Cougs haven't even put the pads on yet?

Cardinals CB Greg Toler Signs His One-Year Tender Offer

Cornerback Greg Toler has signed his restricted free-agent tender, returning to the Cardinals for the 2012 season. The contract is worth $1.26 million. Toler started 13 games and had a pair of interceptions for the Cardinals in 2010 but missed all of last season after tearing his ACL in training camp. There is a chance he could reclaim his starting job across from Patrick Peterson...
