Congratulations to you brave Cleveland Browns fans because you have a new starting quarterback! Let’s welcome third-string QB Brian Hoyer as the next tackling dummy. Former starter Brandon Weeden sprained his right thumb during Sunday’s loss to Baltimore, opening up the vacancy for Hoyer. The 27-year-old made one start for the Cardinals last season after spending the three previous season serving as Tom Brady’s backup in New England. Hoyer will become the 19th different quarterback for the lowly Browns since 1999. One Browns fan has documented the turnstile that is Cleveland’s quarterback position. Originally a dreary Tim Couch jersey the fan added all the disappointing Browns quarterbacks over the years. The new version brings us to the Brian Hoyer Era. Godspeed Cleveland. 14 seasons. 19 quarterbacks. Your Cleveland Browns. http://t.co/gnR6sTvo4V / pic.twitter.com/G6hRyV8c2I — Sporting News (@sportingnews) September 18, 2013 Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Browns third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer will start Sunday against Minnesota in place of Brandon Weeden, who sprained his right thumb last week. This is a very surprise move by the Browns, but I honestly feel that Hoyer is a better quarterback than […]

Browns Punt 2013

Brian Hoyer, starting NFL Cleveland Browns quarterback. Trent Richardson, Indianapolis Colts running back. Say what you like about tanking a season to try and draft a franchise QB. At least it’s an ethos. This team wasn’t going anywhere with Brandon Weeden, anyway. And even apart from Mike Lombardi’s impeccable track record, no one has a clearer direction than Joe Banner, nor...

Browns seeing their relevancy for a generation slipping away

These thoughts have been going through my tortured mind since the end of week 1, when the Browns looked like a Division I-AA team, losing at home yet again on Opening Day, this time to the Dolphins. Well done, Brokaw. That was fast. Week two had my hopes still a bit inflated, as I was thinking that Weeden's flashes he shows, albeit all too rarely, were going to...
