I spoke to Patriots LB Shawn Crable today. That, in itself, was a step in a positive direction. Since he was cut, then brought back, then promoted, Crable has not done one interview. And yes, I’ve asked.
So today, after Crable had a key pressure in a hybrid nickel defense that helped send his defense off the field late in the Ravens game, Crable broke his silence.
Crable called this entire year “a learning experience,” which I can understand. I asked how it felt to finally contribute with that big rush in a big spot.
“I’m just happy to be out there,” Crable said. “Any role that I get at this point is a bonus for me. I’m just happy to be out here and embraces whatever role they give me. Just play, play hard every play.”
You’ll read more on Crable tomorrow, I promise, as he reflected on the tough three years. “It’s not fun being injured and can’t play football,” he told me, “but I always have fun playing football.̶...
