The Packers are ready to play after a bye week following the disaster in Cincinnati.  The Lions are coming off a huge division win against Chicago. After a rough Week 3 we were able to get back on track with a 12-3 week 4 performance.  That puts us at 48-15 for the season, better than all of the ESPN Experts. Week 5 is gives us some more tough match-ups.  Let's stay above .500 this week. Lions @ Packers - This is a great division match-up the in the NFC North.  The Lions are playing well, but still have weaknesses at WR and DB.  The Packers get their rookie RB this week to help the offense.  I like the Packers at home. Panthers @ Cardinals - The Panthers are coming off an early bye after demolishing the Giants.  Can the defense hold-up and can Cam get things rolling on offense?  The Cardinals needed some help to win last week and need to get the running game going to help Palmer and the offense.  I'll go with Arizona at home. Saints @ Bears - This is goi...

Lions doomed without WR Calvin Johnson, lose ugly 22-9

The absence of WR Calvin Johnson made a noticeable difference in the Detroit offense as they couldn't operate without him losing 22-9. WR James Jones caught a long touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers, and the Packers defense contained the undermanned Detroit Lions.

Lions at Packers: Five things to watch

When the Detroit Lions finally start to win some games, history lessons become necessary. It's the last time since this, the last time since that. Lions' Lambeau skid continues

No Megatron, no offense. Thats the way it looked Sunday for the Detroit Lions, who were completely shut down while losing to the Green Bay Packers for the 23rd straight time on the road. The Lions defense kept it close until late in the third quarter, but they needed some help and eventually wore down as the Packers pulled away for a 22-9 victory at Lambeau Field in Green Bay....

The Packers will have to be on top of their game to top rejuvenated Lions

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Five things to watch for in Sunday afternoon's Week 5 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions: 1. How does Aaron Rodgers bounce back from a rare bad game? There haven't been many poor performances from Rodgers in recent years. Therefore, there isn't much of a sample size to draw upon in determining how he responds to an un-Rodgers...

Detroit Lions Preview: Lambeau Losing Streak Will Continue

The Lions have opened the 2013 season in impressive fashion and will look to keep it rolling into week 5. There the problem lies, a trip to illustrious Lambeau field to take on the Green Bay Packers who are coming off a bye. Packers Injury Report is Encouraging

The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Green Bay Packers. As Friday injury report shows, the team needed the extra week of recuperation. To lead off with the best news, Clay Matthews fully participated in practice on Friday and was given the go ahead to cause chaos on Sunday against the Lions. Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN: “Everything looks good...

PACKERS FOOTBALL FRIDAY: Coming off the Bye

Everything points to a Packers victory this weekend, and it has me nervous.  The Lions haven’t won a game in Lambeau Field since before I stopped believing I could grow up to be Batman (1991).  The Packers are 8 point favorites.  They are coming off of a bye.  They should be getting healthier, although it is unclear whether Clay Matthews and Casey Hayward are going to play...

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TODD McMAHON Associated Press Ask Darren Perry about Calvin Johnson and the Green Bay Packers' safeties coach cuts right to the chase. Sam Shields 'was kind of upset' Calvin Johnson didn't play

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- About 75 minutes before kickoff, players inside the Green Bay Packers' locker room began to find out that Detroit Lions' star wide receiver Calvin Johnson was inactive for their Week 5 matchup. While Johnson's absence certainly played into the Packers' favor and their 22-9 victory over the Lions, at least one Green Bay player didn't take it...

Lions vs. Packers Week 5 Preview: Can the Lions overcome their Lambeau curse?

Twenty two years…  that’s how long it’s been since the Lions won in Green Bay. Frankly Lambeau field has been a house of horrors for a thousand Lions players over the past 2 decades. And heading into this game everybody is going to talk about Lambeau, the Packers being 93-65 lifetime vs. Detroit and perhaps Mike McCarthy being 6-1 after the bye week. Green Bay is coming off...

Lions hope secondary will be ready for Rodgers

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By NOAH TRISTER AP Sports Writer Although the Detroit Lions were pleased with their victory over Chicago last weekend, the game's last few minutes highlighted a potential trouble spot. With cornerbacks Chris Houston and Rashean Mathis sidelined because of injuries, the Lions allowed two late touchdowns before holding on for a 40-32 win. Now the secondary...
