The Carolina Panthers used their franchise tag on defensive end Greg Hardy back in February. He has a $13.1 million salary this season and wasn’t scheduled to receive any of it until September. However, to quell the threat of Hardy skipping out on offseason workouts, Carolina has agreed to restructure the deal and give the stud defensive end a $1.3 million advance of the salary. He will be paid weekly throughout the offseason program.
