Robert Kraft took time out his busy day to say all the glowing things he could about Wes Welker in an interview with ESPN’s Darren Rovell. Kraft threw around statements like, “”I love Wes Welker” and “[I hope Wes Welker] remains a Patriot for life, just like Tom Brady.”But unlike with Brady, Kraft hasn’t been thinking about a deal for Welker that “he thought could work for both sides.” In fact it’s not even clear if Kraft and has ever thought about deal for Welker. Because despite all the lip service, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com is reporting that the Patriots haven’t even offered Welker a contract. Not even a proposal to get negotiations started. You guys won’t believe this: I said Wes Welker was waiting for the Patriots last offer. Received a correction: Actually their 1st offer— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 12, 2013It’s not like the fact that Welker wants to get paid has been sprung on to the Patriots out of the blue. We saw this same process play out a year ago which ended in Welke

Report: Wes Welker agrees to terms with the Broncos

This is certainly a nice twist. According to multiple reports, New England Patriots free agent wide recevier Wes Welker may be close to accepting a deal from the Denver Broncos, and becoming a target for the chief rival of the Patriots over the years, Peyton Manning. Filed to ESPN: Broncos in serious talks, trying to hammer out an agreement with Patriots WR Wes Welker. Decision expected...

Deal between Wes Welker and the Patriots “isn’t anywhere near close to happening”

It was reported yesterday that the New England Patriots and wide receiver Wes Welker have ended their contract talks with both sides unable to come to an agreement on a new deal. According to the Boston Herald, it’s not just that both sides aren’t talking anymore, but they’re weren’t even close to getting a deal done, despite reports  leading up to the start of free agency...

Report: Wes Welker deal with Patriots Nowhere close to being Done

Free agent wide receiver Wes Welker and the New England Patriots reportedly seem to be on two different pages when it comes to his value as a free agent. At 32, Wes Welker has thrived as a slot receiver in New England, totaling over 100 receptions 5 out of the last 6 seasons. But, at 5’9 and on the downside of his career when you historically look at receivers in their 30′s...

Broncos becoming the Super Bowl favorite with Welker signing

Wes Welker may be the most fortunate wide receiver in the NFL. He spent six seasons in New England with Tom Brady, one of the top quarterbacks in recent history, and now he's heading to Denver to join Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. In other words, Wes Welker may be the luckiest wide receiver in the history of the NFL. Still, it's his impact on the Broncos'...

How much better is Wes Welker than Danny Amendola?

There might have been other factors at play, but on Wednesday, the New England Patriots essentially decided that they'd rather have Danny Amendola on their roster than Wes Welker. The deal Amendola signed with New England pays him a higher annual salary than the one Welker inked with the Denver Broncos, and is nearly as valuable when it comes to guaranteed money.  In fact...

Wes Welker Agrees to Terms with Broncos

This one was a shocker. I saw Welker ending up back in New England.

John Elway and The Denver Broncos know how good Wes Welker is, they signed Peyton Manning a teammate.

The Denver Broncos just took away one of the New England Patriots play-makers. They signed Wes Welker today to get quarterback Peyton Manning another target to throw to. The Broncos picked up a great receiver who will make an immediate impact for the Broncos. Welker has all kinds of experience, the play-offs, super bowls you name it and Welker has done it in the NFL. Reports coming...

John Elway Called Peyton Manning Before Signing Wes Welker

John Elway may be the Broncos top executive, but Peyton Manning is the teams general, and with that Elway consulted with and made sure Manning was on board before going all in on Wes Welker according to the Denver Post. “I asked Peyton about it yesterday to make sure he was on board,’’ Elway said. Welker will take slot receiver Brandon Stokley’s position, so it’s definitely...

Report: Peyton Manning Pushed to Get Wes Welker, ‘Take Away Tom Brady’s Favorite Weapon’

Think Peyton Manning was excited to steal Tom Brady‘s kicker? Well, he’s pretty happy he got his slot receiver this time around, too. Manning was in the improbable role of Patriot-poacher on Wednesday when Wes Welker agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with the Broncos that few people saw coming. While Denver was reportedly constrained in how much it could offer Welker, with...

Wes Welker's choice is down to Denver and New England, according to Bill Simmons

On the heels of a report that Wes Welker was considering leaving New England after they low balled him on their offer, enters Bill Simmons. The rumor mill continues. Before you say, "Isn't he a columnist/podcast host/pop culture/grantland creator/nba tv guy?" remember that Simmons does have connections in the sports world. How can he not at this point? He often references...

Ok, this is weird. Danny Amendola actually signed on Tuesday?

So, we all assumed that the Patriots saw that Wes Welker was being offered two years, $12 million by the Broncos and refused to match that low offer. Apparently, that wasn't the case. They didn't care because they had already signed Danny Amendola, this didn't happen yesterday when we heard about it. It happened two days ago? Interesting news: Amendola signed with...
