The Pittsburgh Steelers plan on starting WR Mike Wallace when the team travels to Denver to play the Broncos in their season opener on Sunday night. Fellow wideout Emmanuel Sanders, who had been working in the “X” position while Wallace sat… out of training camp because of his decision not to sign his restricted tender offer until last week, will likely return to the slot position as the team’s No. 3 receiver. Wallace said that he has a pretty good grasp of the team’s new playbook. The Steelers just hope he can be more effective against Champ Bailey on Sunday than he was when the teams met in the wild card round in January.

Steelers’ Wallace and others at increased injury risk early in season

The best case scenario for any NFL team is to have all hands on deck and everyone healthy for the season opener.
