Found August 30, 2013 on Football Extra Points:
The Ravens played great in the playoffs last season beating the top AFC team on their way to the Super Bowl.  I've been very hard on Joe Flacco in the past but I gave him credit for leading them to a championship.  Now that we're heading into a new season, my criticism of Flacco remains.  He's lost Boldin and Pitta, not to mention Rice isn't getting any younger.  Flacco's low completion percentage and inability to convert third downs will plague their offense all season. After postings a record of 164-92 last season, I'm ready to breakthrough to 70% this season. Here's an early look at Week 1. Ravens @ Broncos - Denver wins at home behind Manning and a solid defense. Vikings @ Lions - Detroit wins.  Their weakness if pass defense but the Vikings cannot throw, Seahawks @ Panthers - Seattle wins at home on the legs of Lynch and Wilson. Patriots @ Bills - New England should roll the Bills and their offense.  If you have the Patriots def...

Peyton Manning talks about retirement

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning sat down and spoke with Erik Kuselias of NBCSN’s Pro Football Talk and talked about his future. ”I really have no idea how much longer I’ll play,” Manning said, via ProFootballTalk.com. “In the 2011 season, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to play again.  I had a very strange injury.  I had different doctors that just couldn’t...

Ravens looking to unload WR Tandon Doss?

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh thinks the team is so stocked at the wide receiver position going into the 2013 season that they're considering trading one of them, reports Chris Wesseling of NFL.com.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh names several starters

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh has named Gino Gradkowski his starting center. Harbaugh also said Friday that James Ihedigbo will star at strong safety, although he emphasized that first-round pick Matt Elam will also play a significant role at the position. Gradkowski and A.Q. Shipley shared time with the first-team offense throughout training camp, but Shipley struggled...

Ray Lewis is a conspiracy theorist?

Making sense has never been the strength of Ray Lewis' oration game, but now the retired Baltimore Ravens linebacker is careening past motivational nonsense and into the realm of the conspiracy theory. Remember when the lights went out during Super Bowl XLVII? Lewis says that was no accident. "I'm not gonna accuse nobody of nothing -- because I don't know facts...

Marlon Brown makes the team at WR as Ravens fall to Rams, 24-21...

The final preseason game loss doesn't matter... the Ravens just found their #3 or #4 wideout... And it's not Tandon Doss. Meet Marlon Brown...  Ray Rice and Joe Flacco watched from home. Before the preseason finale, the Baltimore Ravens had one foot out the door. "There's no need for an assessment for where we're at," coach John Harbaugh...

Ravens lose Jameel McClain and Kapron Lewis-Moore to PUP List

The defending Superbowl champion Baltimore Ravens have lost Jameel McClain and Kapron Lewis-Moore to the PUP list. Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun is reporting both players have been placed on the reserve PUP list making them ineligible for the fist six weeks. McClain tallied 79 tackles before suffering a season-ending spinal contusion against the Washington Redskins in Week 14...

Ravens rumors: Baltimore shopping wide receivers

Entering the preseason, many wondered if quarterback Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens would be able to duplicate their productivity considering so many receiver options had been lost since the end of their Super Bowl-winning campaign, including Dennis Pitta and Anquan Boldin. While this appeared to be a concern for the team early on, it apparently no longer is, as head coach...

Ravens shopping young wide receivers

The consensus around the NFL is that wide receiver is a weakness for the Baltimore Ravens as they embark on a defense of their Super Bowl title. The organization doesn't see it the same way. In fact coach John Harbaugh revealed Friday that the Ravens consider themselves so rich in young receiver talent that they're hoping to unload one in a trade. "We'd love for...

Broncos backup QB, looks sharp vs. Cardinals

There is a future quarterback plan at the Broncos' Dove Valley headquarters although John Elway would never dare draw it on paper. Wouldn't want any visible evidence for Peyton Manning to see. But if the laws of mortality hold the day will come when Manning now 37 no longer is the Broncos' starting quarterback. If it can happen in Indianapolis it can happen here. That...

What to watch in Rams' preseason finale against Ravens

ST. LOUIS -- The Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens are coming to town, but you can be forgiven for not excitedly counting down the hours to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Ravens are visiting for a preseason game against the Rams, the fourth and final one, at that. Most teams tend to sit their regulars in the preseason finale under normal circumstances, and the Ravens have even more reason...
