The release of veteran James Harrison has been debated and well documented all offseason with fans’ opinion on the situation pretty much split. The one thing that is certain is that Harrison is not going to be back for the 2013 season and Jason Worilds will have his shot at the starting job. Although I haven’t been the biggest fan of Worilds since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2010 draft, I have to admit he impressed me during the 2012 season. He seems to have developed against the run and has shown pass rushing ability in spurts. Technically Worilds was second on the team in sacks in 2012 but that really isn’t saying much when the leader in that category, Lawrence Timmons and James Harrison, only had six for the year. Worilds has a huge opportunity in 2013 to prove he has the ability to be the future at the OLB position for the Steelers. The only problem is that like his former teammate Keenan Lewis, Worilds will become an unrestricted free agent the season after...

WVU WR Stedman Bailey Would Be An Asset To The Steelers Inside The Red Zone

The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost wide receiver Mike Wallace to free agency, and until April 19th gets here, there is still a slight chance that they could lose wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders as well. When you factor in the chance that tight end Heath Miller could very well miss a few games or more at the start of the 2013 season because of his knee injury, that's quite a few...

Trading Back in the 2013 NFL Draft May Not Hold Much Value for the Pittsburgh Steelers

Heading towards the 2013 NFL Draft things are getting less clear as to who will be drafted in the top 10. Typically at this point we have at least some idea who the top ten picks will be, but like the NCAA tournament this year things are all over the place and it’s really just a guessing game at this point. Yesterday ESPN’s John Clayton was discussing the top five picks on his...

With the 17th Pick in the NFL Draft, You Would Take…

Everyone of us has been an armchair quarterback at some point in our lives and now that has evolved into being an armchair general manager and I want to give you your shot at being a GM. Depending upon your like or dislike of Colbert, you get to pull on one of his...

Does Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin Still Want Fomer Raiders LB Rolando McClain?

As soon as the Oakland Raiders waived linebacker Rolando McClain on Friday, I knew that several people would be hollering for the Pittsburgh Steelers to go after him. A lot of the hollering for McClain by the fanbase stems from an article that Kevin Scarbinsky of the Birmingham News wrote back in December of 2009, right before Alabama played Florida. Scabinsky wrote that then...

Pittsburgh Steelers: A Look at the Five Fastest Wide Receivers in the 2013 NFL Draft

It’s been established in this space that if Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is available, the Pittsburgh Steelers should select him with the No. 17 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. But what if Patterson is gone by the time the Steelers pick? What if they pick an outside linebacker or a running back instead? That would be OK, but the Steelers still would need to take at...
