At the moment, the Steelers currently do not have a running back under contract on the roster. Rashard Mendenhall is an unrestricted free agent, Chris Rainey was waived, Baron Batch is an exclusive rights free agent and Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman are restricted free agents. Although there has been some speculation that Redman could sign an offer sheet from another team, I believe he will be back with Dwyer and Batch. I really do not think the team is going to use a high draft pick on a running back even though many are predicting that to happen.
I do think they are going to at least try and shake something up at the running back position with the comments Steelers president Art Rooney II and General Manager Kevin Colbert made to Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest.
Although many would argue that the fact that the Steelers are going to be tight against the cap again that it will preclude them from signing anyone at all in free agency. Let me say that their number priority should an...

Ahmad Bradshaw did not waste any time putting his name into free agent circulation after being let go by the New York Giants.

In the end most players end up where they can get the most money, but for convenience I can see why Bradshaw would consider the Jets.
He wouldn’t to worry about any moving expenses.
“Whatever, whoever needs me, whoever can use me. Whoever I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team,” Bradshaw said. “The New York Jets are a team that I’ve kinda...

He's been on the free agent market for less than a week, but former Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw is already drawing interest from several teams including Rex Ryan and the Jets.
Super Bowl, World Series, Kentucky Derby, each of these events is synonymous with the month that it is held in. Some months hold multiple big sporting events. Some have hardly anything at all. A bunch of my friends and I were sitting around one day, having a few brewskies of course, and we were just throwing random sports events out and having a spirited discussion about which month...
Even before this past season ended, signs have been pointing the to Pittsbursh Steelers letting running back Rashard Mendenhall walk in free agency. Signs continue to point to this being the case.

According to Patricia Traina of Yahoo! Sports, even though the Giants cleared up some cap space by releasing Chris Canty, Ahmad Bradshaw and Michael Boley, it looks like they only have about $4 million to use in free agency. With this being the case they’ll likely have to dump more players to get further under the cap.
Traina mentioned David Diehl, Corey Webster, Justin Tuck...
