The Rap Sheet:
The Patriots-Broncos game won’t be played for two weeks, but it’s already featured quite the battle. Turns out, there was a royal rumble between CBS and NBC over whether the game will remain at 4:15 p.m. Eastern on CBS or get flexed to NBC as the Sunday Night Game.
This was a solid breakdown here from yesterday, and the Denver Post reported that Patriots owner Robert Kraft was involved on the CBS side (maybe to get more gift certificates for CBS Scene?) That all meant it was delayed last night, at least until this afternoon.
So, who won?
And so, after a 24-hour delay, nothing has changed. CBS will keep the Patriots-Broncos game that will still be at 4:15 Eastern. That means the Ravens-Charges game will remain on Sunday night. So, all that for nothing. And Kraft wins. So do the Patriots, who get to come back to Foxboro earlier with a short week to face the Dolphins on Christmas Eve.

32-year old WR Deion Branch has really been productive for the Patriots so far this year. He is enjoying single coverage this year as most teams gameplan to stop Wes Welker and the Patriots’ TEs. Branch has played in all 12 games for the Patriots so far this year and he has caught 48 passes for 665 yards (13.9 avg) with 4 TD grabs. He has now played in 127 games in his first...
FOXBORO, Mass. -- The Patriots might return Sunday night from Washington as AFC East champions if they beat the Redskins and the Jets fall to the Chiefs, so the scoreboard watching (both games are at 1 p.m.) should be in effect, if not for the players then at least from the fan base. But there are plenty of other topics to discuss this week, so let's run through 20 thoughts in...
The 9-3 New England Patriots are on a four game winning streak and have a strong lead in the AFC East. Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have this offense rolling and the Patriots are looking to clinch the division this week. The Patriots have done it the past four games all thanks to the passing attack of Brady. The Patriots have gotten away from the run but does it really matter...
FOXBORO, Mass. -- After the Patriots only managed one first-quarter possession and watched the Colts dictate the early pace of Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium, quarterback Tom Brady demanded that the offense accelerate its attack with its next opportunity. They started with a grueling 16-play drive that included four third-down conversions, but that also kicked off a stretch...
Andre Carter returns to Washington. The Patriots look to stay mistake free. It’s all inside today’s edition of the Patriots.com News Blitz.
For Andre Carter, the 2011 NFL season has represented a renaissance. Released by the Redskins in March, Carter signed this offseason with the New England Patriots and now ranks ninth in the league with nine sacks.
Carter had his best year as a Redskin in 2009, recording 11 sacks to lead the team, along with Brian Orakpo. But when Coach Mike Shanahan took over the following offseason...
Merely minutes into last week's game against the winless Indianapolis Colts, Vince Wilfork barreled through the offensive line and set the tone with an early sack.
Man this kid had a rough Sunday after Tom Brady lit up his Philadelphia Eagles. This kid really hates Tom Brady and everything he represents. His parents are grooming him
ANALYSIS/OPINION Had circumstances not intervened, this could have been quite the Sunday at Fed Ex Field, a veritable Tight End Jamboree. The New England Patriots would have shown up with twin terrors Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, and the Washington Redskins would have countered with their formidable pair, Chris Cooley ...
