Some seriously stupid things happened in the stupid but awesome NFL this past weekend. Let's summarize... The stupidest fumble-related rule Robert Griffin III was driving the Washington Redskins down the field in the fourth quarter when he slid awkwardly after clearly giving himself up at the end of a first-down run. He fumbled and hadn't been touched, so the turnover was legit. However, that rule has to be addressed. If a player has obviously given himself up, the play has to be considered dead. Defenders would have been penalized for hitting Griffin at the exact moment the ball came loose, which to me indicates there's something stupid about the ruling. The play should have been over right here... RG3 agrees regarding the stupidity of the rule. From the Washington Post: “Yeah, it’s the rule,” Griffin said. “And it’s a stupid rule. You’d think if you declare yourself down that you’d be down. I mean, I wasn’t falling. I was trying to get down to avoid ...

The season could not have gotten off to a worse start for the Washington Redskins. After getting blown out in the first half of a Week 1 showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles and failing to make a remarkable second half comeback, the Redskins dropped its next two games and now sit at 0-3 following a […]The post Virginia CVS Pharmacy zings Washington Redskins with Kleenex sale sign...
Redskins fans thought for sure that their fortunes were changing in 2012, when the arrival of Robert Griffin III ushered in a 10-6 season and a playoff berth, the first winning season and playoff appearance since 2007.
Just three games into the 2013 campaign, though, Washington supporters are already doubting the ability of the team and sinking into the doldrums — and the local...
Where did Washington Redskins RG3 go? The player that earned Rookie of the Year honors seems to have vanished. Well, maybe not. The Redskins might be using Robert Griffin III the in a different way after he tore his knee in the playoffs last season. In 2012, Griffin at this point in the season had 198 rushing yards compared to 62 he has, in 2013. Griffin passed f...
During today’s show on ESPN’s First Take, analyst Skip Bayless mentioned that a Redskins insider claims that Robert Griffin III told the coaching staff that he wants to get away from read-option this season because he believes he can be as good of a pass as Peyton Manning.
It certainly looks like the Skins have abandoned the read-option for the most part. If Griffin did...
The season is not going according to plan for the Washington Redskins. After a 0-3 start the boo-birds and haters are coming out of the woodwork faster than politicians when a lobbyist is offering free dinner. One of the latest to join in on the hate parade was former defensive back Fred Smoot.
And he got a little creative.

Just a week after saying that quarterback Robert Griffin III has been slowed down by the bulk of his protective knee brace, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon now says that Griffin is "not fully healthy, obviously", according to the Washington Post.“He’s running a little bit more. But last year’s RGIII was a lot different from this year’s RG because...
For Robert Griffin III, or RGIII because Federal law now mandates you must always refer to him as RGIII and only RGIII, and the Washington NFL team, the first three weeks have been a nightmare. An 0-3 start, and a horrific defense that got shredded by Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions yesterday. Stafford, who put up nearly four bills passing on them, isn’t the only one...
Robert Griffin III went head-first instead of sliding, so when the ball popped out it was a fumble.
Aldrick Robinson had a touchdown catch in his hands, but he couldn't quite maintain possession as he hit the ground in the end zone.
Thanks to the turf, the Detroit Lions ended 74 years of failure in the nation's capital.
The pair of fourth-quarter bobbles sent the Lions...
You would think that a player who is as well known as Robert Griffin III wouldn’t get his name wrong during a broadcast, but Fox’s Dick Stockton called him “Robert Griffin Jr.” Not sure why or how this happened, but a surprising mistake nonetheless.
ASHBURN, Va. – Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon says quarterback Robert Griffin III is ”a lot different” this year.
Garcon said Monday that Griffin is ”not fully healthy, obviously.”
Said Garcon: ”He running a little bit more, but last year’s RG3 was a lot different than this year’s RG because of his knee. It’s not surprising — we’ve been talking...
Fred Smoot provided a harsh assessment of Robert Griffin III during a radio interview on Monday, and he also introduced us to a great new nickname for Mike Shanahan. Smoot, who is a humorous guy and does not mince words, said during an hour-long appearance with Holden and Danny on 106.7 The Fan in DC […]
Although at least one teammate feels Robert Griffin III has yet to return to his elite form, the Washington Redskins have reason to believe they can recover from the franchise's worst start in 12 years.
Perhaps a matchup with a banged-up Oakland Raiders team is what they need to begin that turnaround.

Once again, the Washington Redskins proved to disappoint in this afternoon’s game against the Detroit Lions. Over the course of their first three games, the Redskins have looked overmatched on offense, defense, and special teams. At 0-3, fans are already beginning to wonder if this year is going to be over before it truly starts.
