The 2012 Senior Bowl week is underway in Mobile Alabama with the best of the senior class on display for NFL Scouts.  Yesterday marked the first day of weigh-ins and the first day of practice for the week.  With the hiring of Marc Trestman last week by GM Phil Emery the two were spotted standing "shoulder to shoulder" in Mobile scouting prospects and taking mental notes.  On display yesterday on the NFL Network was the North team practice and three players of note caught our eye during one-on-one drills.  These three players on the North roster are three players Chicago Bears fans should get to know this week.  The Bears are going to need to add to their defensive tackle depth with both Nate Collins and Henry Melton hitting the open market as free agents.  Collins was a backup a nose tackle this season who played at a very high level for the Bears, showing some starting level ability.  Melton, not much needs to be said, he's a Pro Bowl DT and the best pass rusher on the roster.  He represents the future of the defense and the Bears need to lock him up for the long term.  One player who the Bears may keep an eye on as a mid-round defensive tackle who fits into the rotation is Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill.  Even with the departure of Lovie Smith and the arrival of Mel Tucker the Bears will still run a 4-3 one-gap defensive system.  Hill fits that type of profile as a one-gap nose tackle, who is also versatile enough to play the 3-technique in some situations.  Hill measured 6-foot-1 and weighed 296-pounds has a good burst, and plays with heavy hands showing the ability to stack and shed blocks.  He's also aggressive as a rusher, and moves well laterally in run pursuit.  Another standout the Bears should keep an eye on is Markus Wheaton a wide receiver from Oregon State.  Wheaton played all four years for the Beavers and improved his production each and every year.  He projects as a slot wide receiver at 5-foot-10 183-pounds but he's extremely fast and a threat down the field.  As a senior Wheaton caught 91 passes for 1,244 yards and 11 touchdowns.  He graduates from Oregon State as their career leader for most receptions with 224 receptions over his four-year tenure.  The Bears are also in search of interior offensive linemen and one of the players that stood his ground well yesterday was San Jose State's David Quessenberry a 6-foot-5 294-pound guard.  He showed solid feet and movement in pass protection and is very aggressive as a run blocker.  Quessenberry showed a nasty attitude throughout the season and projects as a solid mid-round prospect who could offer versatility on the outside as well.  He should seamlessly transition to the interior given his footwork and aggressive style of play.
