Thou shalt not be on thy cover

Tebowmania was hard to miss, week after week Tim Tebow gave the NFL something different. Be it a ten yard scramble into the endzone, or an 80 yard bomb down the field to seal a playoff victory, there was no doubt that the former Florida Gator turned Denver Bronco was a hit for the league.

When EA Sports announced that there would be a fan vote for the second straight season of the Madden NFL video game, I thought immediately Mr Tebow should just hop in his car, head out to the studios and start the photoshoot before the voting even began, with how crazy the aura was surrounding him during, into, and after the season, right up until he got traded to the New York Jets it was hard to imagine that his hype wouldn’t have landed him on the cover of the beloved Madden series.

Round one of the fan voting featured Tim Tebow vs Arian Foster. Not often do we see a first round pick get beat an undrafted free agent, but it’s happened. Arian Foster was victorious, pulling out 54% of fan voting.

Maybe it’s a good thing for the NFL, not wanting to curse a player that did so much for the league ratings last year?
