Jim Wyatt reports that the Titans are still hoping to re-sign some of their unrestricted free agents including DT Antonio Johnson. According to Wyatt, the teams remain in contract talks as we move closer to the start of free agency. Johnson and his agent can begin to meet with prospective teams on Saturday, but it’s hard to say that he would have a competitive market in the coming weeks. With this in mind, his best option could be to re-sign with the Titans, assuming that they’ve made a competitive offer. Johnson, 29, signed a one-year deal with the Titans last May after not finding much interest in free agency. He played in all 16 games and totaled 22 tackles and three sacks. He was also rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 40 defensive tackle in the league.     The post Titans Discussing An Extension With DT Antonio Johnson appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Study: Titans fans would be the most unwelcoming to Michael Sam

The eggheads at Emory University’s sports marketing analytics department decided to examine the Twitter reactions in each NFL market in the days following Michael Sam’s public outing in February. Why good could come of this? Well, it enabled them to rank NFL markets by their collective approval of Michael Sam being a gay NFL prospect. Sure, why not?Not sure what the study’s...

Did the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders make the list of the 10 best in the NFL?

Ex-Titans star Bulluck calls out RB Johnson for me-first attitude

With friends like Keith Bulluck ... why would Chris Johnson need any enemies? On Tennessee sports radio this week, Bulluck, a one-time All-Pro linebacker who averaged 102 tackles for the Titans from 2002-06, took a surprise shot at Johnson, characterizing the running back as a selfish player who often puts himself above the team's success (or lack thereof). "He's a friend...

Titans re-sign DL Ropati Pitoitua

The Tennessee Titans locked up another of their impending free agents on Thursday, re-signing defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua to a three-year deal. Like other recent re-signee Bernard Pollard, Pitoitua was widely considered another player the Titans would likely be very interested in retaining for new coordinator Ray Horton's defense. He was a 3-4 defensive end with the...

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson is scheduled to make $8 million this year with his current contract, but his declining play makes it unlikely he will return to the field with the team he starred with. Report: NFL Teams Think Chris Johnson Is Lazy

Freeman points to sources around the league who say teams simply believe Johnson is “lazy,” and doesn’t work hard...

Ex-Titans LB: RB Chris Johnson is a 'me' person, never takes blame

Titans running back Chris Johnson is scheduled to make $8 million in 2014. The problem is, Tennessee doesn't really want to pay him that much. The Titans have been trying to negotiate Johnson down to a lower number, but things are currently at a 'standstill.' Is Johnson at fault here for not wanting to take a pay cut? Are the Titans at fault for asking him to take one...
