Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams seemed to have taken Sunday’s 51-20 home loss to the Chicago Bears pretty hard. So hard in fact, that he told reporters following the game that the entire organization will be “closely evaluated” over the remainder of the season. “In my 50 years of owning an NFL franchise, I am at a loss to recall a regular-season home game that was such a disappointment for myself and fans of the Titans,” said Adams, via the Nashville Tennessean. “We were grossly outcoached and outplayed from start to finish today. At this time, all aspects of the organization will be closely evaluated, including front office, coaches, and players over the next seven games. If performance and competitiveness does not improve, I will look at all alternatives to get back to having the Titans become a playoff and championship football team.“ Head coach Mike Munchak seemed to be well aware Adams’ expectations for the team. “If a team underperforms, I’m the first guy you should look at for that, not anybody else, not assistant coaches. It starts with me,” Munchak said. “If we don’t finish this season the way it should, then what needs to happen will happen. Sure it starts with me, I’m the head coach.” There’s no question that this season has been a disappointment. The Titans are currently sitting with a 3-6 and have put together some dismal performances as of late. Jake Locker was expected to step in and provide their offense with a much needed spark, but two shoulder injuries have kept him out for a good portion of the season. With Matt Hasselbeck continuing to decline, it seems very likely that we’ll be seeing Locker in the near future. Tennessee travels to Miami next week and will have their bye in Week 11.
