Despite suffering a separated left shoulder, QB T.J. Yates is likely to start this weekend when the Houston Texans will host the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs. Yates suffered his injury on the first play of the game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters on Monday, “All indications are that he’ll be able to go.” Yates completed four of four passes for 47 yards but exited the game, giving way to veteran QB Jake Delhomme. Delhomme finished the afternoon throwing for 211 yards and a score. Quarterback health has been an issue for the Houston Texans this season with both Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart being lost for the year after suffering season ending injuries. Other than Yates and Delhomme, the Texans have signed veteran journeyman Jeff Garcia. Garcia was inactive for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
