Turn On The Jets:
New York Jets
As we all know by now, the Jets sit at 3-2 after five weeks and are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers this week in what is shaping up as a huge game. The Steelers may be winless, but they’re coming off a bye and are still a scary foe. If the Jets win, they could be playing the Patriots the following week with first place in the division on the line, which is still a little bit surreal to even think about. But let’s not look past the Steelers in what should definitely be a tight game and a great test for Geno Smith and his Jets. Let’s go ahead and do some buying and selling…
BUY: Rex Ryan – In case you missed it yesterday, yes, John Idzik should be getting the contract extension for Rex ready now.
BUY: Marty Mornhinweg – The job Marty did against the Falcons on Monday night was tremendous. He saw his rookie quarterback struggle the previous week in Tennessee and decided to make things simple for him, especially with his #1 receiver, Santonio Holmes, out of the game. He designed a game ...

The bar for rookie quarterbacks is at an all time high after the seasons that Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson had last year. This season the New York Jets entered the year being looked at as a joke. The Jets had question marks all over their offense, especially at the quarterback position. Many predicted the Jets would be the worst team in the league at the...
The question isn't whether it's a surprise that, five games into the season, the Jets are a full three wins ahead of the Giants in the insignificant-but-significant two-horse race that is New York football.
The question is: Did anyone think that the Jets would be better than the Giants? A single person? Would anybody, in August 2013, have been willing to put down money on...
Geno Smith has been up and down during his first five NFL starts, but the New York Jets rookie's performance Monday night at Atlanta was the stuff franchise quarterbacks are made of.
With Mark Sanchez out for the season, Smith is the clear starter - and, maybe for good. Even if neither he nor coach Rex Ryan acknowledge that's the case. Smith says he's approaching the...
Rookie New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has been very impressive so far this season, but this front page headline on New York’s Daily News is eerily similar to the one featuring Mark Sanchez after his debut with the Jets. Hopefully this is just a coincidence and Smith will continue to develop and finally get that awful Sanchez taste out of the mouths of Jets fans.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off their bye week. They are 0-4. The New York Jets are coming off a come back victory over the Atlanta Falcons. They are a surprising 3-2. Here are three bold predictions:Geno Smith will have less interceptions than Ben RoethlisbergerGoing into last week Smith was tied for a league high 11 turnovers including eight interceptions. Roethlisberger...
Geno Smith's Monday night performance not only won over critics and headline writers it also earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 5.
Smith completed 16 of 20 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns but it was his poise down the stretch leading the New York Jets to a 30-28 last-second victory over the Atlanta Falcons that most likely earned him the...

It's been an up and down opening stretch for Jets rookie QB Geno Smith, but last week he looked like "West Virginia Geno" to a couple of his former teammates now with the Steelers.
Publisher Nick St. Denis, associate editor Dan Begnoche and senior contributor Sean Donovan pick the New York Jets' AFC contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers.Nick's take:Everything about this one feels like a trap game... for the 3-2 Jets, not the 0-4 Steelers. Pittsburgh is bound to snap out of it, and a two-week break before facing the Jets, who are on a short week, is what...
Florham Park, NJ The moment the Jets drafted Geno Smith, the clock started on Mark Sanchez's time left in green and white.Late last night, his time ran out unofficially, at least. The Jets announced late Tuesday that Sanchez underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, an injury he sustained in the third quarter of a preseason game against the New York...
Coming off what could be a defining effort in his young career, the New York Jets' Geno Smith hopes to take the next step in his development by putting up consecutive strong performances.
Facing a defense that hasn't had a takeaway, Smith might be up to the task against the winless Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jets look to continue their surprising start and remain undefeated...
New York Jets tight end Kellen Winslow has been suspended without pay for four games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Winslow will miss games against Pittsburgh, New England, Cincinnati and New Orleans. He’ll be eligible to return to the Jets on Monday, Nov. 4, the day after the Jets
The New York Jets return home after a stunning road win against the defending NFC South champion Atlanta Falcons. Thanks to Geno Smith’s third game winning drive of the season, the Jets went into Atlanta and beat Matt Ryan and his fantasy football offense. Good news, Steelers Nation: The Steelers didn’t lose last week.
The bad news: The Steelers are 2.5 games back of the rest of the AFC North, and are 2.5 games worse their next opponent, the New York Jets.
The Jets will be on a short week, but will be playing at home against a team that is 30th in points for and 23rd in points against.
Let’s see how this match-up stacks up.
