Either the Patriots are being extra cautious or there's genuine concern with Brady's hand. David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Brace yourselves, Patriots fans. Tom Brady didn’t participate at practice on Thursday. But the concern probably ends there.

There hasn’t been any indication that the injury could jeopardize Brady’s status for the AFC championship versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice.

Jaguars’ head coach Doug Marrone has already down played the injury. In fact, earlier today, he would suggest that Brady could probably throw left-handed.

I’m sure he could probably throw left-handed if he has a problem with his right hand and throw just as well.

Jokes aside, the Patriots are going to be ready for Sunday afternoon’s AFC title game. After all, nobody is better at preparation than Bill Belichick. Even if Hoyer has to take the snaps Sunday, he’ll make sure he’s ready. But for the time being, the Jaguars should probably expect to face Tom Brady.

Right now, it appears as though they’re just being cautious. We cannot say for certain, but Friday afternoon should tell us plenty. Of course, playing against Hoyer could arguably swing the momentum in Jacksonville’s favor. But that’s not something the Jaguars should bank on.

Brady and Co. are as dangerous as they come. In short—this isn’t their first rodeo.
