The Giants have accomplished the essentials already this offseason: keeping coach Tom Coughlin and Perry Fewell on their sideline. Coughlin's future is all locked up, as he will be coaching next season, which is the final season on his contract. After a 10-win season and coming just short of the NFC East title, the Giants have reason to be optimistic about next season. By keeping Coughlin, who has a Super Bowl ring and came up painfully short of the playoffs when nobody was talking about the Giants last offseason, the G-Men have the continuity that will allow them to win at least ten games next season. • This is good news for Giants fans as it keeps concistency in place which is so important in the NFL. Had we lost Fewell to a head coaching gig we would have to start all over again with someone elses defensive game plan. Now we can just build on what we had this past season. As long as the offense reduces turnovers next year we will be right there for the division. After all, Fewell took a D that played horribly the season before and brought back the true meaning of Giants defense, even with a couple of hiccups along the way.
