There has been some speculation that the Detroit Lions would take an offensive tackle with their 10th overall pick in the upcoming draft. I would personally consider this to be a total waste. The Lions offensive line was ranked in the top third of the league, and it is a young line with potential to improve at the tackle position as they mature. With Reily Reiff and LaAdrian Waddle as their starters and Corey Hilliard and Jason Fox backing them up, taking a tackle when the team has so many other holes would be counterproductive. Unfortunately, the Lions general manager Martin Mayhew lives by the philosophy of taking the best player available, and that may end up being a tackle when the Lions pick comes around. If this list is accurate though, the good news is that player will not be the baggage ridden Taylor Lewan. To best learn about who may be available should the Lions choose to go this route, the staff here at cover32.com has come up with a list of the top 10 tackles available in the draft. Check it out here, and cross your fingers that none of these names are called at the 10th spot. No complaints though if any are left in the second or third round. Well, maybe some complaints in the second round.
