It is estimated that over 100 million people watched the Super Bowl this year. Although Super Bowl XLVII was one of the best in recent memory, the commercials are still the real winner on Sunday. Here are the top five commercials from the 2013 Super Bowl. 5) The Traditional Budweiser Clydesdale Commercial This year, we see the Clydesdale as a young horse being raised by its caring and loving owner. Although the bond is strong between the man and his horse, he knows that the horse is destined to be a famous Budweiser Clydesdale. However, fate intervenes as the horses make their way to Chicago. In a humorous twist, the horse recognizes his owner and gallops after him as his owner is about to drive away. The awww factor in this commercial is undeniable. 4) A 49ers Fan Stains His Shirt In The Form Of Joe Montana Most of us have heard stories about people seeing the image of Jesus or other religious figures burned into their grilled cheese or carved in a tree. Tide decided to have some fun with that concept and air a commercial about a man who gets a stain on his 49ers jersey. However, it is no ordinary stain. In fact, it is a stain that oddly resembles Joe Montana. The lucky jersey owner is hailed as a cult figure and his property is dubbed Montanaland. However, his good fortune ends when his wife washes his jersey. Why would she do that? Of course, she was a Ravens fan. 3) The Elderly Prove That They Are Young At Heart If it weren’t for the awkward music, this very well could have been the best Super Bowl commercial of the year. However, the concept of a group of elderly folks painting the town red is as funny as it gets. I’m sure most of us are hoping that we can enjoy our lives even half as much as the people in the commercial did. Even if we won’t be getting tattoos or dancing in nightclubs in our old age, the point is that we are only as old as we feel. Thank you Taco Bell for a Super Bowl commercial that is both funny and makes a good point at the same time. 2) Gangnam Style Pistachios Psy went on record saying that he was going to retire Gangham Style after the Super Bowl. Like the Macarena, this song and dance craze had to end eventually. The good news is that the Wonderful Pistachios commercial was a fun and entertaining way to send this song into retirement. Watching Psy ride a pistachio was certainly one of the top ten moments during the Super Bowl. 1) Go Daddy Merges Smart And Sexy Go Daddy brought us the best Super Bowl commercial of 2013. It isn’t often that a guy gets to kiss one of the most beautiful women on the face of the Earth. For Jesse Heiman, he got to kiss Bar Rafeli and be in a Super Bowl commercial at the same time. If that doesn’t do wonders for his career, I don’t know what it would take. What is even more impressive is that he got to do over 60 takes before the final scene was settled on. The 2013 Super Bowl gave us a lot of great moments. There was an exciting finish, a power outage that lasted over 30 minutes and both Harbaugh brothers coached against each other. However, as always, the commercials were what the majority of the viewing audience were waiting to see. No one went home disappointed.
