Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams says he’s the real “Optimus Prime” when it comes to facing off against Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson aka “Megatron.”
“I’m definitely Optimus Prime,” Williams said, per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I’m the leader of the Autobots. I’m the leader of the young guys right now and when it comes down to the tough battles, I’ll lead those guys out there.”
“That’s what’s going down on Sunday — me going against Calvin,” Williams said. “He’s going to make some plays and I’m going to make some plays. We’ll see who wins the battle in the end.”
Williams says that both Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman of the Seahawks got pushed around by Johnson and can’t call themselves “optimus Prime.”
“Guys like Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman — they talk about how physical they are — but Calvin was pushing those guys around the field like it was nothing,” Williams said. “And those are some big guys. You definitely h

Richard Sherman claimed he was Optimus Prime before Seattle's game against Megatron and Detroit, but Tramon Williams insists he's the true owner of that moniker.
Healthy and on his game, cornerback Tramon Williams will square off against wide receiver Calvin Johnson on Sunday. "Everyone around the league knows Calvin is one of the best in the game," Williams said.
There’s nothing like going to a Packers game in enemy territory and seeing the annoyed looks on the faces of opposing fans as you walk by; that “what are you doing in my backyard?” look. Well imagine the looks a big, loud organized Packers tailgate is going to get.
More importantly, if you’re going to the game, you want to hang with fellow Packers fans to revel in the greatness...
Ahhhs and boos.
Those are the two distinct and opposite reactions the home crowd rains down on the same missed opportunity. Popular Green Bay Packers named Jennings, Jordy and James hear the former.
The latter may seem reserved solely for embattled tight end Jermichael Finley when he does the same thing . . . drop the rock.
I first noticed the hostility toward Finley...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Reinforcements are on the way for the injury-riddled Packers. Two key players from their Super Bowl team two years ago, outside linebacker Frank Zombo and tight end Andrew Quarless, are both about to make their season debuts.
It amounts to the equivalent of Green Bay signing two quality free agents in the middle of the season, just in time for a playoff push....
Apparently "60 Minutes" isn't going to sit back and let Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers take shots at it without a response. After Rodgers told the Detroit media in a conference call on Wednesday that his feature story on "60 Minutes" was "cut for their purposes, their agenda," the CBS news magazine fired back at the NFL's Most Valuable...

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was mad as hell at the final cut of his “60 Minutes” appearance last week. The Packers star felt that the final edit fit the show’s “agenda” and was upset it didn’t air a segment where he discussed the MACC Fund charity. instead they opted to talk about Rodgers smalls stature — Today 60 Minutes fired back, and...
Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will miss Sunday's game against Detroit because of a hamstring injury, coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. Matthews was hurt two weeks ago in a game against the Arizona Cardinals and the hamstring hasn't healed sufficiently for him to play this week, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported. Matthews, who has experienced hamstring...
Week 11: Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions
This Week’s Pick
Green Bay Packers
The defense is battered, but the Packers are catching the Lions as Detroit looks to be headed towards a potential tailspin. Calvin Johnson may have had big numbers last week, but the passing game took time to come to...
It’s often times lost that Aaron Rodgers attended UC Berkeley for college. While the university has since become one of the top academic institutions in the country, its reputation throughout the years has been of welcoming some of the more bizarre characters ever to attend school. Count Rodgers among them.
Ever since his first year in the league, Rodgers has held onto an interesting...
Asked about his recent interview with 60 Minutes Aaron Rodgers let it be known he was not a fan of how he was portrayed.
“I wouldn’t put a whole lot of weight into that story,” Rodgers said. “It was cut for their purposes, their agenda, and most of the answers were either just portions of a bigger answer or probably not even for the question that was asked. So, I’m not...

Packers CB Tramons Williams and S Morgan Burnett will need to be on the same page this Sunday
The Green Bay Packers are back in action this week after their bye. They head to Detroit to face the Lions for just the first time in 2012. The Lions are coming off a loss to the Minnesota Vikings and have battled inconsistency all season. They have yet to beat a division opponent...
With a 4-5 record, the Lions begin a stretch of home games they must win, beginning on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers -- a fact not lost on many of the team's defensive starters.
