The alleged shooter in the 2007 killing of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor will have his day in court on April 16.
Eric Rivera Jr., 21, will be the first of four men accused in the slaying to be tried. The four will be tried separately, although those dates were not announced.
A fifth man previously pleaded guilty to murder and burglary charges and is expected to testify against the other four.
The men are accused of fatally shooting Taylor during an attempted robbery. All have pleaded not guilty and face potential life sentences in prison if convicted.
Taylor was shot in the upper leg and was mortally wounded in his femoral artery. He was 24.
The shooting came eight days after Taylor's house was initially burglarized.
The fifth overall pick of the 2004 draft, Taylor was a two-time Pro Bowl selection - including posthumously in the 2007 season.
Taylor collected 299 tackles, 12 interceptions and two quarterback sacks during his four-year career with the Redskins.
