Giants safety Antrel Rolle says that the Giants can't be beat.
While that sounds more like the coach of the other team that calls the Meadowlands home than it sounds like a member of the team that's coached by a man whose mantra is that talk is cheap, there's plenty of fuel for Rolle's argument right now. The Giants have crushed four straight opponents by hitting big plays on offense and letting loose with a defense that's finally healthy after being undermanned for much of the year.
So they are playing extremely well. Does that mean Rolle is right?
Not at all. The 49ers haven't exactly been backing their way through the opposition this season. They beat the Saints up on Saturday and they've been doing that to just about every team they've faced en route to this moment.
That is going to force the Giants to play differently than they've played in their first two playoff games. They easily outmuscled both the Falcons and the Packers, but that's ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The New York Giants are a mighty confident bunch. Not to outdo Justin Tuck, coach Tom Coughlin or other guys on the team who’ve been open about feeling like they have more than a puncher’s chance against the 49ers this Sunday, but safety Antrel Rolle was just brimming with confidence Monday.
From the New York Daily News:
“We wouldn’t say we’re unstoppable, but our mindset...

Antrel Rolle has been on a roll the past couple of days.
The Giants ' safety, who would later address 49ers tight end Vernon Davis' comments, started out by telling reporters that New York "can't be beat" in the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco on Sunday.
Or, in the Super Bowl, for...
Perhaps the biggest news to come out of Antrel Rolleâs weekly radio spot on WFAN today was the retirement announcement.
Be careful what you wish for. That was safety Antrel Rolle’s reaction when he heard the 49ers were rooting hard for the Giants to beat the Packers last Sunday. That sentiment was reflected in the words of tight end Vernon Davis, who, after catching the winning touchdown pass Saturday...
New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle earlier this week responded to a comment by San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis that caught the attention with the media. Davis had said that he was praying that the 49ers would end...
Prior to the start of the playoffs this NY Giants blog mentioned the significance of Antrel Rolle and his emergence in the leadership role. He “lit a fire” under his teammates that played a part in their turnaround.
We can look back to 2008 to a team that lacked a strong VOICE of leadership. A void was left by the retirement of Strahan. It was evident that in their...
I like Giants safety Antrel Rolle. Talented on the field and entertaining off it, he makes this job easier by giving me and the rest of the guys plenty of things about which to write and/or babble. If I were Giants coach Tom Coughlin, however, I’d be looking for something to cram in Rolle’s mouth.…
Can the Giants keep it going? After a convincing win over the Packers at Lambeau Field, the Blue will travel to another iconic NFL venue this Sunday – San Francisco’s Candlestick Park – to try to knock off the resurgent 49ers. It won’t be pretty by any means. The rain will begin to fall in the Bay Area beginning tomorrow and not stop until early next week. It will be a wet...
