Sometimes, a little change will do you good. After three years playing on the inside of the defensive line, Tyson Alualu may have a new position for the 2013 season. The former first round draft pick from California has been an average player at best for this team, not worthy of being a top-10 choice when the team could have chosen Tim Tebow the season year. And for the record, the two will always be linked in Jaguars’ lore because the former management of the organization made that choice that fans are living with.According to NFL.com, the decision was made by head coach Gus Bradley, one that could help Alualu, who has been hurt almost since the day he first put on a Jaguars’ uniform. The Jaguars have shifted the former first-round draft pick from defensive tackle to defensive end, getting the 6'3", 295-pound Hawaiian in a run-stopping role while allowing him to work in space, the report states, which was first printed by the Associate Press. We feel it's a good fit," coach Gus Bradley said Wednesday. "He's all in favor of it, feels like it's a better fit for him."There have been many changes to the defensive line this season alone for the Jaguars, who signed two defensive tackles, Sen’Derrick Marks of the Tennessee Titans and Roy Miller of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early in free agency before the team signed Kyle Love of New England earlier this month. With those changes and the need for the team to be quicker off the edge, Alualu making the switch seems to be a good thing for this team.Right now, it figures Jason Babin will man on end position while Alualu, along with Andre Branch, Jeremy Mincey, Brandon Deaderick and Andre Branch will compete for the other starting slot.  The Jaguars also have Austen Lane and Paul Hazel, who could figure in the mix for playing time. Branch and Hazel could also factor into the “LEO” position on defense, which is a hybrid pass rushing slot used in the defense run by Bradley when he was defensive coordinator in Seattle.Personally, I think the move to end is a good one for Alualu. For three years, he has been the surprise selection of this team when the organization could have chosen players like Jason Pierre-Paul, who was taken by the New York Giants.
