Michael Vick was named to be starting quarterback for the going into the 2013 regular season. Coach Chip Kelly’s decision is not that big of a surprise. Vick has been doing an excellent job of getting down the offense that Chip wants to run. He has a completion percentage of 86.7 percent for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception this preseason.
“We’ve evaluated the situation and Michael Vick is going to start for us against the Washington Redskins,” Kelly said. “He’ll get the predominant amount of reps today in practice and he’ll play, hopefully, our plan is for him to play two quarters in Jacksonville.”
Kelly did meet with both Vick and Foles this morning and informed them of the decision. “They both played at a high level,” Kelly said. “I just think that Mike played at a higher level.”
Chip also wanted to make it clear to the media that there would be no rotating of quarterbacks. He doesn’t want Vick to feel that he could lose his job at any second. “No one is going to

If you told me last December that Michael Vick would be the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 1 starting quarterback, I would assume either Nick Foles suffered a nasty injury before the team had a chance to cut Vick, or the world is coming to an end.Vick finished 2012 with 12 TDs against 10 INTs with only 2,362 yards in 10 games played.
