New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is one of the best bargain's in the NFL. But that's all about to change after the season as Cruz is set to become a restricted free agent.
Cruz will make $577,000 this season. If the Giants cant make a deal with Cruz, other teams will have the chance to sign him. The Giants will have the right to match any offer from other teams.
"I'm just in a position right now where I'm just focused on football," Cruz said during his radio spot on WFAN (via The Star-Ledger and NFL.com). "I have people, my agents and things like that, to worry about that stuff. But as a human being, you obviously want to -- you hope you get it done before the season's over, obviously.
"My team and my agents, my team on my side, we would like to get it done before the season's (over)," Cruz said. "We don't want to drag it along, and become something that blocks the team in the offseason, and something that is in the media every day.
"We don't want it to get like that. We want to just knock it out halfway through the season, or during the season at the very least, and put it behind (us)."

Eli Manning and DeAngelo Hall went back and forth over the winning touchdown Manning threw to beat the Redskins in the final minutes of their game.
While it hurts to fathom, especially from the eyes of a New England native, Eli Manning is undoubtedly the best clutch quarterback going right now in the NFL.
Yes, Tom Brady led the Patriots to a comeback victory on Sunday over the hated Jets, but it marked the first time he had done so since the AFC title game last year against Baltimore. Most importantly, in...

Griffin completed 20 of 28 passes, threw for 2 touchdowns and...
DeAngelo Hall insists he did not mean any disrespect earlier this week when he said the Washington Redskins gave Eli Manning and the New York Giants a win last Sunday. When discussing New York’s game-winning 77-yard touchdown, Hall basically said anyone could have made the throw and that it was nothing more than a blown coverage. Several Giants players ripped him for the comments...

After a busy week of football we are now basically at the midpoint of the season. Some teams have disappointed and some teams have impressed. Players have broken out and got off to quick starts while others have slightly regressed and perhaps aren’t the players who we thought they were. Looking back at Week 7 here are your NFL Rock Stars.

That big Philip Rivers-for-Eli Manning trade the San Diego Chargers pulled off on draft day 2004 is now essentially a one-for-one deal.
Kicker Nate Kaeding, obtained with one of the three draft picks the Chargers got that day along with Rivers, was released from injured reserve Tuesday and became a free agent.
He'll collect $1.1 million in termination pay.

David Cutcliffe has done the impossible. David Cutcliffe has made Duke relevant. I don’t just meaning ACC relevant, I mean nationally relevant. CBSSportsline has a story on Duke football. Conner Vernon is appearing on ESPN’s CFBDaily.
All because Duke is bowl eligible for the first time in 18 years and at 6-2 (3-1) and currently leading the ACC’s Coastal Division.
