ESPN analyst Merril Hoge went on a rant over New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow’s reported decision to opt out of playing in any Wildcat formations last Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. “To me it smells like three-day-old fish,” said Hoge. “I think (Tebow) is as phony as a three-dollar bill. Because at the end of the day, what have I heard? That he will do anything at anytime. ‘You ask me to do it, I’ll do it.’ And all of a sudden that’s unacceptable?”

  • Really....Really....Tebow was used from before he even made a decision to play for the Jets...he went there ready to do something...he was promised a lot...there was a lot of hype created by the Jets organization...he was used so they could generate more $$$ period, and nothing more...it was a joke on him...the only reason he was passed over by the head coach, in fear of losing his job...if Tebow came in and played well the last couple of games and pulled out wins, then Rex idiot Ryan would've really looked like a chump, as the fans were calling for Tebow weeks and weeks ago, as Ryan kept coddling spoiled little Sanchez...So obviously the coach really actually doesn't care about anything but himself, and the organization for that matter...If I was Tebow I would've done the same thing...He would be an idiot not to have shone some type of sticking up for himself...The Jets organization, never, ever lived up to their promises...it was all a big farce...A big lie...If I was a Jets fan, I'd be livid over the circus act going on consistently in the New York Jets arena...it's a joke....!
    GO SEAHAWKS!!!

  • I think that it is a shame the way they have treated Tebow.I agree that he was used to draw a crowd at the games. After coming out of college no one has really given him a chance. there have been previous Quarterbacks that weren't so great in the beginning and ended up being very good.I've watched our Quarterback here in Tennessee(Titans)Jake Locker. Now I love the Titans but we've had a terrible year.Just because they are good in college doesn't mean that they will began their NFL career being good.Come on now.If Tebow's playing time is consistent maybe he can get better.LEAVE TEBOW ALONG PLEASE!!!!
  • Merril Hoge commenting on Tim Tebow, what a joke.
It reminds me of a time when Craig James was criticizing Peyton Manning. Manning had a great line. He said" who died and made James the quarterback coach?"
I guess the four letter network forgot to tell Hoge that everything is blown out of proportion in New York. I guess they forgot to tell him that facts never get in the way of a good story in New York. I guess Hoge didn't consider the possibility that the Jets PR department leaked this story to cover the criticism they have recieved over the last few months.
Tim Tebow is a good person, a good athlete who has been misused at the professional level.
