Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward will have a cameo role this season in the hit AMC show, "The Walking Dead." Ward will play a zombie of course and the 7 minute video below has all of the details. The 36-year old Ward, who is now an NFL analyst for NBC Sports, had over 12,000 receiving yards in his career for Steelers and has never been shy when a camera has been put on him. Ward had a cameo role as a football player in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises," the final Batman trilogy installment done by Christopher Nolan, that was released this past summer and everyone remembers Read more [...]

Tomlin Sent Weighty Message To Dwyer After The 2011 Season Ended

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL.com, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer was sent a weighty message by head coach Mike Tomlin following the end of the 2011 season as the Georgia Tech product was warned in front of all of his teammates that if he showed up to training camp overweight he would be out of a job. Kinkhabwala reports that Tomlin had a picture of Dwyer...

Is Antonio Brown Paying For The Emmanuel Sanders Cramp?

While I was not a fan of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown backpedaling 20-yards into the end zone on the punt return last week against the Washington Redskins, I think him being fined $10,000 is way too harsh. To put that in perspective, the Baltimore Ravens were fined $20,000 by the NFL this past week for previously not listing free safety Ed Reed on the injury...

Steelers Injury Report: Jonathan Dwyer Limited, LaMarr Woodley Remains Sidelined

The Pittsburgh Steelers resumed practice on Thursday as they prepare to take on the New York Giants Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The Thursday injury report is now out and it shows that linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring), linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring) and running back Baron Batch (shin) did not practice. The status of Woodley heading into the weekend now appears to...

Lack Of Deep Balls Might Be Helping Mike Wallace More Than He Thinks

Sure, the deep passes to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace are down so far this season under the direction of new offensive coordinator Todd Haley, but he is still on pace to have a solid season, and the process might just be increasing his market value as well. Despite the lack of deep receptions, the Steelers fourth year receiver has 36 catches on the season and...

Steelers D rallying around coordinator Dick LeBeau

The players on the Pittsburgh Steelers defense liken Hall of Fame coordinator Dick LeBeau to a father figure. When the critics started chirping the 75-year-old LeBeau was losing his touch after the Steelers got off to a slow start, his players rallied around him. The proof is on the field. Nearing the season's midway point, Pittsburgh (4-3) is second in the NFL in yards allowed...

Steelers Defensive Struggles May Be Due to Youth Not Age

Everyone has heard the talk the last two years about how the Steelers defense is too old and slow and how they will no longer be good enough to win games, but it doesn’t seem to be the age on the defense that is causing the problem. In fact, it may be just the opposite the Steelers defense may ContinueThe post Steelers Defensive Struggles May Be Due to Youth Not Age appeared first on SteelBlitz.

Sir Isaac Redman To Start?

That’s Sir Isaac Redman to you Juan… Both Jonathan Dwyer and Rashard Mendenhall are both looking doubtful for Sunday’s tilt VS the Giants.  Isaac Redman will be the defacto starter with a mix of Batch and Rainey. Unless Dwyer heals quickly and can give it a go, you have to take him out of your lineup.  Redman is far from a sure thing, but if you are desperate enough in a...

Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants: Week 9 NFL Pick

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) at New York Giants (6-2) Last week, the Giants won in Dallas in the exact type of game they normally win. They are now 18-7 ATS as road favorites under Tom Coughlin. On the road in general, they are 50-25 ATS under Tom Coughlin, as opposed to 34-38 ATS at home. As home favorites of more than 3, which they are this week, they are 18-26 ATS under Tom Coughlin...
